BYD, a Chinese automaker, has reportedly begun testing its third product for the Indian market. The model, which goes by the name Seal EV, might be unveiled in the upcoming months. It has now come to light that BYD has registered the Dolphin name as a trademark in the nation.

Two battery pack options for the Dolphin EV are available worldwide: 44.9kWh and 60.4kWh units. The 44.9kWh unit generates 201bhp and 310Nm of torque, while the latter can produce up to 174bhp and 260Nm of torque.

The Dolphin EV features a blanked-off grille with a faux carbon-fiber finish, LED DRLs and projector headlamps, 17-inch aero-focused wheels, a charging port on the front fender, and ORVMs mounted on the A-pillar. It also has a dual-tone finish extending to the bonnet, an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, wraparound LED taillights, an LED light bar on the tailgate, and a rear wiper and washer.

The model’s interior is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, an infotainment system with a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, six airbags, an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, a V2L function, and four drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow. It should be mentioned that BYD has not yet revealed or validated its intentions to launch the Dolphin India.
