Volvo India is preparing to increase the range of electric vehicles it offers in the nation. The Swedish carmaker has announced that the EX90, its flagship all-electric SUV, will arrive in India in 2025. It will go on sale concurrently with the EX30, its entry-level model.
The XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge are the two electric models the automaker currently offers for sale. The seven-seater EX90 made its international debut in 2022 as the future electric sport utility vehicle. The EX90’s top-of-the-line model has a 111kWh battery pack that can reportedly travel 600 km on a single charge. Two electric motors installed on each axle receive power from the battery pack to produce a maximum torque of 900 Nm and 500 horsepower.
Conversely, the entry-level EX30 will have a twin motor setup and a 69kWh battery pack. With this configuration, the EX30 is said to have a 474 km maximum range on a full charge.
In other news, the carmaker globally renamed its lineup of electric vehicles. We now refer to the Volvo XC40 Recharge as EX40 and the C40 Recharge as EC40. Furthermore, both models now have a 436 horsepower power output.
