VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, debuted the VinFast VF3, a supermini electric SUV, at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The automaker in India has now homologated this model.
With a respectable amount of ground clearance, the VF3 boasts a tall, robust, and boxy design. It has a nearly rectangular closed grille up front, with squared ORVMs and LED headlamps on either side. Subsequently, a substantial black bumper reaches the wheel arches, succeeded by the rear bumper. It features LED taillights at the back and a chrome-finished brand logo connecting both ends.
The VF3 with a single motor configuration will be offered in two trim levels: Eco and Plus. The carmaker stated that it is aiming for a range of roughly 201 km (150 miles) on a single, fully charged battery, but it has not disclosed any information regarding the size of its battery. The VF3 has a 550-liter boot space and measures 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height.
The compact electric SUV’s interior will feature a cutting-edge 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected automotive technology with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, or fully foldable second-row seats. It should also include a two-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, a digital instrument cluster, dual airbags, and cruise control.
In other news, the VinFast started building its factory in Tamil Nadu. With a production capacity of up to 1,50,000 vehicles annually, this upcoming 400-acre manufacturing facility will employ over 3,500 residents. It is noteworthy that this project has a total investment of Rs. 4,165 crore.
