The starting price of Honda’s India-bound Elevate SUV is R 369,900 (Rs. 15.92 lakh) in South Africa. There are two versions of the mid-size SUV available: Elegance and Comfort. Additionally, it comes with the same powertrain option that is available in India.
Regarding alterations, the Honda Elevate’s exterior mostly stays the same. It has an electrically movable single-pane sunroof, a large blacked-out grille, fog lamps, an upright, tall bonnet with ridges, and LED DRLs built into the headlamps. The SUV’s features include an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system (it is 10.25-inch in India), automatic climate control, a wireless charger, a digital instrument cluster, four power windows, six speakers, and six airbags. Notably, the Elevate is not equipped with ADAS technology, which is available in India.
For the South African market, the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine is the same as the Honda Elevate. The motor can produce a maximum torque of 145 Nm and 119 horsepower when combined with a CVT gearbox and six-speed manual gearbox. It’s interesting to note that the carmaker is providing a standard warranty in India that is three years and unlimited kilometres, but in the US it is five years or two hundred thousand kilometres.
